Cardiac Science FirstSave G3, Powerheart, Powerheart G3 and PowerHeart G3 Pro AED's

All new Cardiac Science Powerheart G3 and Powerheart G3 Pro's will now ship with the new guidelines.

How to upgrade: FirstSave G3, Powerheart, Powerheart G3 and Pro versions can be upgraded via serial cable that was included with the AED when it was purchased. The software needed to perform the upgrade can be purchased directly from Cardiac Science at (800) 991-5465

*Cardiac Science AED Trainers are not upgradable but replacements that are 2005 compliant are now available for purchase.

*The Cardiac FirstSave AED is discontinued and is not upgradable  

Defibtech Lifeline and Reviver AED's

All new Defibtech Lifeline AED's and Defibtech AED trainers will now ship with the new guidelines.

How to upgrade: Defibtech AED's and training units are easily upgraded using a data card. For more information please contact Northwest Health and Safety Inc at 1-866-517-8243.

HeartSine Samaritan and HeartSine Samaritan PAD AED's

All new HeartSine Samaritan PAD AED's will now ship with the new guidelines

How to upgrade: HeartSine Samaritan PAD AED's can be easily upgraded via USB cable and software which is available at aed4u.com--Click here for the upgrade package.

Philips Onsite, FRX, FR2, Forerunner AED's

All new Philips Onsite, FRX and FR2 AED's will now ship with the new guidelines.

How to upgrade: Philips Onsite and Philips FRX AED's need to be sent to Philips for re-configuration.THE UPGRADE DEADLINE FOR THE PHILIPS ONSITE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 12-31-08. AFTER THIS DATE PHILIPS WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT ANY UPGRADE ORDERS.To upgrade please call Philips directly at 1-800-263-3342 prior to 12-31-2008. The upgrade cost is around $280 per unit which includes a 2 year extended warranty.

Reconfigure your device with a Training and Administration Pack. M3864A

FR2/FR2+ version 1.5 or older

Can be reconfigured to mostly comply with Guidelines 2005.

Exception: One prompt to assess the patient prior to CPR after a no-shock decision.

Device Exchange. Philips sends you a replacement device that is Guidelines 2005-compliant. You then return your device to Philips. (for a limited time)

Devices shipped after 11/28/05: Free at Philips’ expense (for a limited time.)

Devices shipped before 11/28/05: Update for a fee until 2-28-2008


Owner Upgrade Kit. Device owner purchases Kit and upgrades their own devices.Call for details.


Note: There are some early FR2ssold in 2000 and early 2001 that must be returned to the Philips factory for an upgrade (for a limited time)

HS1& FRx

Prior versions’ CPR Coaching does not have the current 30:2 compressions/breaths ratio. HS1 also prompts to assess patient.

Philips Onsite AED Trainers are not upgradeable. New Philips Onsite trainers can be purchased at aed4u.com.

Philips FRX AED Trainers have only been released with the new guidelines.

Philips HeartStart Trainer 2 can be upgraded using M3754A Programming Kit for about $30.

Zoll AED Plus and AED Pro

All ZOLL AED's shipped now will meet the new guidelines.

The ZOLL AED Plus can easily be upgraded by using a USB Infrared cord and upgrade software. You can purchase everything you need to upgrade the ZOLL AED Plus yourself at aed4u.com. The kit includes new stickers for the graphical interface and software (You will need an Infrared device for upgrade).We also offer a mail-in upgrade service.

The ZOLL AED Pro is also easily upgradable via Infrared and upgrade software. You can purchase the upgrade kit at aed4u.com.
